Science questions are never in isolation (single topic),
but each new concept is brought on from the previous
Example : A question on water cycle would involve
P5 water and changes on state, P4 Heat energy and P4 Matter
Hence it's important to recall and recap.
Mind maps are used to link what was taught at the end of each topic
(See my post on mind mapping)
Doing mind maps are integrated into my lessons
so that when they graduate from p6,
not only have they learnt scientific concepts and skills,
but also mind mapping skills that will be useful in the secondary and tertiary
years, whether for revision or exploring a new concept.
Not only applicable for Science, but for other subjects too.
They are taught, so that they can do on their own eventually.
Many of them are first exposed to mind mapping when they come to
my lessons and after they graduate, they still remember me as the "mind map
teacher"
P5 Students doing an experiment on electricity
P5 students doing an experiment on Energy
P3 Students planting seeds
